    Circular Saw Blades

It depends on the quality of the blade as to what it will be like to drill. I've drilled a few pin holes in blades and it can be a right pain. You really need to drill 2 holes in the blade as well - opposite each other to keep the blade balanced. You need a decent drill bit, cutting...

    HDR Photography

Hi Ray Hope you don't mind me jumping in on your thread, only I attempted HDR for the first time this week as well! Here's my effort: Caerphilly Castle last weekend - didn't take the photo with the intention of trying HDR but found a tutorial on the net and decided to try it. The...

    Bandsaw blade storage

I've always found it easier to show someone how to fold a blade than try to explain it so if anyone is ever passing us in South Wales, just pop in and I will gladly show you how it's done - it's really easy once you've seen it being done :D Ian

    Bandsaw?

Depends on the amount of teeth in the blade and the thickness that you are cutting - the more teeth in the blade the better the finish but slower the cut. As long as you use the right blade for the thickness of the stock being cut then a bandsaw is capable of leaving a very good finish.

    BAndsaw problems

For deep cutting then the tension should be high and a 3tpi should cope with 6" material with no problem. It does sound like a blade problem though and you'll probably find that it's a duff blade - just hope that it didn't come from a faulty batch and that all the blades will be the same!! Ian

Kity 613 Band Saw - Blades

The Kity 613 does take 90 1/2" blades and I wouldn't use blades any wider than 5/8". Depending on how good the tension spring is then most Kity's will take a 3/4" blade but some struggle to tension the 3/4" blades sufficiently for accurate cutting. .035 is standard thickness for 1" blades...

    How much tension?

Because of the way that bandsaw blades are made they can be slightly over or under the size that they are supposed to be, so if you ordered 56 1/2" blades and they have been made slightly oversize then you won't be able to tension them sufficiently for them to run properly. You should be able to...

    silverline circular saw blades

The Silverline saws are ok for the money - it's a case of you get what you pay for. They cost more to have sharpened than to buy new so it's a case of using until blunt and then throw away! Some of the other Silverline stuff is really good though :D Been impressed by their Holesaws...

    TS blades again

I wouldn't waste your time or money on something like this! They are not accurate enough to sharpen properly and looking at the picture it's difficult to see how this machine will sharpen the fronts and the top angles on the blade. Another reason for staying away from machines like this is the...

    Replacement Bosch batteries

I haven't used them myself yet, but this company was recommended to me a while back: http://www.ebatteryshop.co.uk/ Someone I know had a couple of batteries from them and was very happy with them - I will try and find out if he's still happy! Ian

    Making Bandsaw Blades

A lot of the manufacturers are stopping supplying bandsaw material in 100' coils and 250' coils are the norm now. Some even have a minimum order of 500' per coil. Silver soldering bandsaw blades is easier the thicker the blade - on the thin gauge hobby blades it's a nightmare to get these...

    band tension on startrite 351E

Perhaps I shouldn't say this but I never release the tension on a blade  When I'm cutting some thick stock then I might increase the tension a bit but generally the tension stays the same until the blade is changed I do tell everyone that it's good practice to release the tension on...

    The bandsaw blade twist

It is hard to explain how to coil a bandsaw, but easy to do and to show someone - if anyone is ever passing our workshop in South Wales then you are more than welcome to pop in for a cup of tea/coffee and I will only be too happy to show you how to coil a bandsaw and give a little tour of our...

RECORD BANSAW BS350S PROBLEM CUTTING 100MM HARDWOOD

My initial thoughts is that the tension needs to be set higher - only use the built in tension guide as a rough measurement! With your machine and the blade that you are using then you shouldn't have any problems at all cutting this thickness material. Is the blade stalling in the cut and the...
