Hello newbie here, timber frame log store project

I've enjoyed reading your excursion into your workshop. I kept wondering at what point some nails were going to arrive in the process  It was fun reading - thanks Ross :)

If the client is pleased and specified the white door, then it's another good job well done. :)

    Upvc for sofits and facia

Yes - I should have mentioned that it was a 3rd party delivery company in my neighbours case - and angel plastics just replaced the damaged part, without any hassle.

    Upvc for sofits and facia

Re 2) A neighbour bought some from here after doing a fair bit of research: http://www.angelplastics.co.uk/ One section was delivered damaged and a photo (with the delivery driver present) ensured a replacement was immediately sent without question. And, it was clearly damaged in transit -...

credit card fraud today after using Paypal

That involuntary charge can't be right. I would also suggest (if you haven't already) to change your password asap to something really strong. This might be the number you need: 0208 605 3000 You should get the option; 1) Paypal services 2) Ebay services

credit card fraud today after using Paypal

Thanks for the heads-up on that. On a related note, according to the article below, this disc mower cost the farmer £2,030 (fraud) via a BACS transfer: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Claas-Disco-3 ... 2c704b4638 http://www.fwi.co.uk/articles/20/08/201 ... -fraud.htm "The victim, herself a...

Does anyone understand how this technology works?

Just to add to that, and assuming the purchase volume is manageable ... you could simply break down the DVD's into small video files and just email them to people that have paid. i.e "Delivery will be made by email within 48 hours" There is free/low cost software that can convert the files for...

Does anyone understand how this technology works?

In that case, I'd strongly encourage you to discover a price point that sells the existing media. 500 sales p.a. at £10 is better than no sales at £100 per unit. Also, don't forget the pdf option I mentioned. 2,000 (or whatever number) downloads p.a. at £2 = worth the trouble ....

Does anyone understand how this technology works?

Essentially, a database hosted on a server that people sign up to. The database then serves on-demand content to those that have the required privileges/access rights in the database. There is much, much, more involved than that but that is the basic format. I only looked very briefly at the...

    Stuck drain valve

On the subject of stop cocks, I would recommend installing one of these inline, just after the stop ****. £7 well spent imo. http://www.screwfix.com/p/pegler-ball-v ... 15mm/11085

    wadkin MJ restoration

Wallace - would you per chance have a suitable single phase motor in that workshop of yours that would fit onto this? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... AQ:GB:1123 Love the resto's.

Green oak frame for wood fired oven. WIP

Kleftiko (24 hours cooking time) is one of my favourites. When can I place an order? :) That's a cracking good job you are doing.

    VAT

The scaffolding (which is quite expensive btw) should be part of the contract for the job between the buyer and the roofer. No need for someones old boss (or his 'permits' LOL) to be involved in that. One job, one contract, with insurance. Otherwise, it just adds to the potential for things to...

    quite picturesque villages please..

I didn't mean you should actually walk it :D Wainwright's hand drawn sketches would be an inspiration for your sketches/drystonewalling/watercolours. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksi ... &_from=R40

    quite picturesque villages please..

I used to walk sections of the Pennine Way. I would leave with a map, compass, and a copy of Mr Wainwright's guidebooks. His pictorial guides remain the best (imo) to this day. All hand drawn. At 2,000 feet above sea level and in heavy fog, Wainwright would get you down safely via his...

I would be very happy to have that in my kitchen. You should be proud of that build quality. Well done MrYorke !

    Aims Review... Update..

Good info from Mike. Just to add to your above note, be sure to follow the company complaints procedure. Since they produced it ... they are duty bound to follow it. And the quality control person might just find himself in a spot of bother. You should be able to demonstrate (to anyone) that...

    Wireless burglar alarms?

The reason that I asked for a budget, was that a friend of mine (BT engineer) went through this exact same research one month ago for an alarm system for his parents house. He purchased for them a Yale HSA 6400 (wireless) with a couple of extras for circa £200 in total. Out of the box, you...
