    Table saw fence length

Thank you all very much for the discussion/replies. It seems (to me) that there is definately a bias in the U.S. to use the long fence. That's based on the number of 'tutoring' videos I have watched on youtube. Example (1 min 51 secs): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAIHCzCo90c One of the...

    Damp help advice please

A friend has discovered damp under some old boxes in his garage (1st pic). It appears to be coming in from the outside wall where the rendered wall joins his neighbours drive. (2nd and 3rd pics). The DPC runs the whole length of the wall behind the rendered part and seems fine. How best to...

    Table saw fence length

Please discuss re kickback possibilities and UK/US differences of opinion on this matter? I note the old UK Wadkins have a fence shorter than/or equal to, the rising teeth of the blade. And that most modern mass produced saws come with a fence which extends to the length of the table...

    Chest refurb and more

Can I ask how the floating shelf will be attached? I just did one and made this using some scraps which the hollow shelf then fitted over. Don't laugh too much at the Bedfordshire Boot Joints :) I'd be interested to see your method of attachment.

How to remove snapped bronze screws ??? (in a hole)

I can't quite 'picture' the screws/situation but I used to use these (a long while ago) to remove broken studs/bolts from engines. Snap-on was guaranteed for life then (not sure if that still applies) but I never had one of these break on me. Drill a hole into the bolt/screw, tap one in and...

    First attempt at electrolysis.....impressive results

I progressed to using 3 of these (which can be easily cleaned up for the next bath) instead of 'circular' steel rods. There appears to be a correlation between the amount of surface area that 'faces' the object, and time taken/amperage applied. Difficult to quantify that though without lots...
