Chest refurb and more

I have just finished refurbishing a chest of drawers for one of my customers.

They asked if I could fit an oak top to it as the original one was a piece of laminate. The handles have also been changed as they were just plain stainless 'D' handles. I also had to veneer the drawer fronts due to some deep scratches.
I am also making them some oak wardrobe doors which I have made a start on here.

They also asked for a small floating shelf to stand some candles on. These were to match some units I built a couple of months ago.

Can I ask how the floating shelf will be attached?

I just did one and made this using some scraps which the hollow shelf then fitted over.

I'd be interested to see your method of attachment.

As it is only taking candles I have cut keyhole slots in the rear. Anything heavier then I would have used steel rods set into the wall or commercial mountings. :wink:

Bear in mind some candles come in glass or porcelain jars and can be quite heavy.

Yes these are in small glass containers Mark but I am sure the shelf will take the weight as the frame is made of solid oak.
Today I got two of the doors assembled but am waiting for some more veneered panels for the other two.
