I have some rough sawn Sycamore and Cherry which is was 55mm thick. I have just got it square at around 47mm but i need to get it down to 35mm. I know i ought to bandsaw off a veneer to avoid wasting wood. However when i have done this before the wood has ended up cupping loads plus my bandsaw...

Have to say I bought dragon blades off them a year and a half ago and they didn't want me to pay till I got the blades. I certainly did not feel it was marketing hype. Cheap it may be, but how many other companies are prepared to do that. I think its a little cynical to say its just good...

I am looking at buying some cherry and saw this on the web. I need it to be 1 1/2 inch after planing. Quick question, really, is this expensive ?? I can get thinner pieces from woodyards but this seems a simple solution and is only up the road. ebay link Owen

Sorry to sound ignorant, but how do you work out the angles and the bends etc. Whenever i look at curved stair rails in old houses i just can't work it out how they do all the bends and joins. Owen
