    Corian Infill Plane

I like this...but then again I'm biased as I used to work for DuPont! I use Corian for my guitar nuts and bridges.

This is what I was thinking of, but I don't think it's right...

    Latest aquisition......

Not sure, I knew the cutter because I used one in the lab two weeks ago. The bird thing could be used for cutting or decorating molten glass...some sort of glass blowing tool (although it looks too elaborate for a functional tool like that)

    Latest aquisition......

The thing at the top is for cutting glass rod. You put the rod into the V, then press the cutting wheel against the rod and twist it.

    Scarf Joint, oh yes indeedy

I got some Japanese pull saws front axminster a while back...I find cross cutting more accurate than with a standard saw, but rip cutting is a problem. I think it's because it has a minimal kerf...so if you start wrong, it keeps going wrong..there's no wiggle room. If your saw isn't tracking...

    Hilarious video

I think they are genuinely trying to avoid cruelty...you can hear that they are very concerned not to run it over. If they had wanted to be cruel, they would have kept going...they stopped several times to allow the animal to leave the road. I wondered why they didn't get out of the car to shoo...

    Wall Mounted Computer Desk

You can use a deep apron on the back of the desk to help stabilise the right angle joints between top and sides. The wobble is called "racking"

    Filled up with diesel today

Not since 300BC...Eratosthenes measured the circumference of the earth to within 20%. He was a Scientist. I think you'll find the consensus that the Earth was flat was between the uninformed...NOT Scientists. Maybe there is something to learn from the Flat Earth analogy after all?

    Anyone fancy a classic car?

I had an Allegro...all the excitement of dangerous driving, but within the speed limit. It had an excellent anti-theft device though...it said Allegro on the back.

Formica/Worktop Laminate for router table - DIY laminate?

Ikea bargain corner! They sell good quality work top, very durable and solid. There is almost always work top that has been dropped on it's corner that they can't sell. I got a piece 2.4m long and (almost) too heavy to lift on my own for £4.50 a couple of months ago. Much better quality than the...

    skilled brick layers

I often think I could probably have a go at that when I see various craftsmen doing their thing...but that bricklayer is amazing! That video goes alongside the disabled guy making stools using his feet and the Moroccan bloke making chess pieces with a bow lathe in my vault of awesome!

    Oak Gate Problem

I was a paint chemist in a previous life. There are very few, if any, finishes you can apply to wood that will prevent water passing through entirely. That's why well designed doors and gates allow for movement in the wood as it expands and contracts with changing humidity.

    any electronics whizzes out there?

No problem, don't want it to flare up. There's more than one way to skin a cat...or just buy it pre-skinned! :)
