    DPD Delivery are terrible

Are you not confusing a courier with a broker? Parcel2go are a broker who try and find the cheapest rate for a given parcel/destination combination. DPD are the couriers. I don't see how it can be parcel2go's fault if DPD kicked the cr@p out of your parcel? Bit like blaming your travel agent...

End of another Tour de France and Sky/Brailsford. Clean?

It's a shame that rather than celebrating another win for what must surely be the toughest sporting event on the planet the qustion is about doping. I suppose that's just a reflection of cyclings past. I heard Skys approach called 'sterile' and to an extent it probably was, -but they won so...

F1 Grand Prix in central London... really???

Unfortunately I don't think the 'quality' of the race has anything to do with it (it could just have easily been one of those boring run of the mill processions). It's all about money, money, money. Liberty aren't a charity and their prime concern will be a return for their investment and...

F1 Grand Prix in central London... really???

Wouldn't it be hyper hypocritical to run a F1 race in the place that has a low emission zone? Not that that would bother the politicos at all. I would have thought there wouldn't be enough run off areas to have a 'safe' race? It was fun to walk most of the Singapore circuit. You can even...

    TV wall mount.....

Those that Doug linked to aren't too bad although I've have some problems 'crunching' up the plug. These http://buyrigifixonline.co.uk/ are what I used for a big radiator into dot and dab on thermalite. Very rigid no sign of movement.

    Bathroom refit

It is of course entirely up to you how much you spend but having recently had our bathrooms refitted with aquapanel I wouldn't go back to tiles. Ours was fitted for us but it's certainly a DIY task if your up for it. No tanking required which helps make for a faster install.

I want a small dog to suiit my age and situation

We've had dogs trust 'mutts' for a while now. In fact yesterday was a sad day as we had one of a pair put to sleep after 8 years with us  They're visits aren't intrusive (we had one!) and you have the benefit of knowing you're giving a loving home to a dog that might otherwise not get...

    Happy to be home

And so does the contribution made by the individual. As a public sector pension recipient I'm reasonably sick to death of hearing about my 'gold plated pension' (I know you didn't make that statement) yet when I ask people who do make that statement what their contributions are/we're the...

    Angle grinder blade????

I think you'll find the arbortech is a completely different tool designed for a completely different operation. I haven't used one but have stood next to someone who was and they had very good control. The blade linked to is frankly scary and designed to help darwin candidates on their way!

    Help with Triton thicknesser

Can't help with 2 but 1 sounds like a build up of resin or other carp on the bed. Give it a good clean (white spirit or similar) and wax it up and you should be fine. How do I know? Exactly what happened to me!

    "Gardening" advice please

Really? Any particular ratios/dilution? More than happy to give it a go, - bound to be far cheaper than any of the commercial brands! Does it have a lasting effect?

    Heavy duty thermalite block fixings?

Thanks Doug, They reckon it'll work and at that price I can afford a trial first.

    "Gardening" advice please

The weed suppression fabric is good when new. In my experience after a couple of years the general detritus of life builds up and forms a wonderful growth medium for weeds etc. so it's back to spraying! And of course 'modern' weedkillers are no where near as good as the 'old fashioned' ones so...

    Heavy duty thermalite block fixings?

I've got to hang a very heavy radiator off a plasterboard dot and dab on thermalite block wall. Clearly I'm worried about ripping the fixings out of the wall (6 no) and wondered if anyone has direct experience of such issues? I've found these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rigifix-Drywall ...

    Manchester

Indeed. I wondered if this almost excruciating level of publicity would help make up someones mind who might be on the cusp of something similar? i.e. 'I'll have me some of that publicity'?

    Moving workshop

We've recently moved and I was going to go down the DIY route but by the time I costed in the hire, fuel and time it was actually cheaper for the removal company to strain their backs not mine! There was also the benefit of of full insurance. In all honesty the 'removal' of the hassle factor...

How long should a bandsaw blade last?

Right in principal of course but how many people change blade for a couple of quick cuts in thinner material? I doubt that in itself caused the breakage. In depends what the majority of your cutting is. My saw spends it's life with a 1/2 inch M42 in it and it cuts absolutely everything...

    bandsaw owners dream

Yes, I think you are (but of course I could be wrong!). The function of the pins is to help imitate the strength of a wider blade so when resawing it's 'stiffer' like a wide resaw blade would be. When the pins are removed it's back to a 'bendy' blade. All this and no having to fiddle with...

    Bandsaw Table Twisted!

Would it be possible to get it skimmed? Obviously depends how much you want removed and how much would be left but there must be an engineering place near you that could advise? I would have thought any form of prying/jacking (whether iron or aluminium) would lead to fracture and breakage.
