FOR SALE - workshop shut down many machines to go!

I am interested in the DEFT T30 table saw - got any pics and specs please? I am aware that the importer is now bust so cannot check on his website but size and pics of saw and fence plus opinions on accuracy of said saw would be great. Also whether it is 16 AMP or runs of a 13 AMP socket would...

    Insulation

Consider OSB rather than hardboard - will let you put shelves etc wherever you want. Hardboard will not be strong enough to screw into. Steve

    Axminster Sittingbourne June 26th?

Mike Jeffery being the Axminster Manager? Is he hosting at Axminster or elsewhere? Definately up for it so long as it doesn't clash with holiday season! Will need a SWMBO pass for 26th June, but should be do-able [-o< Steve

    Walnut and snakewood trinket box.

I really like that. Have long admired Andrew Crawfords work since before he moved out of London but never had the money, courage or skill to attend one of his courses. Of most interest to me would be stock prep - how he machines timber to the precise dimensions required. I know he did this...

    Skeleton Chest

Although looking at that picture if the uprights were on an angle and the drawers got narrower as they went up as well as thinner then it would look even more impressive. I'm not helping much am I? Steve

Refurbishing a garden bench - timber and finish?

A thread on here a while ago used hardwood decking from B and Q, cut up for slats. Cannot remember who did it but it looked good in the pics...... Steve

    cringeworthy

Aargh, sitting here waiting for Norm to appear on Discovery Shed, and cringing as Anton Fitzpatrick nails together a plate rack  I really despair if this is what the general public see as quality woodwork  Steve

    Sky box connection

Seems to be patchy then because I have never had a phone plugged into mine and all I get is a message when I reset the box occasionally. This just clears when you click OK to acknowledge it. I do have sky broadbandso maybe it recognises that instead, but the phone line to the TV box has never...

    Router table top

Its also said that you will need to laminate the underside for balance, a bit like when veneering. The other problem is sag of the table from the weight of the router and insert plate - the table needs to be thick enough to resist this but thin enough that you do not lose huge amounts of depth...

    Yet another Rutlands rant

Nope, as stated way above I got the refund to my ccard, but am now sans saw as I sold the kity  Steve

    Yet another Rutlands rant

So by way of an update, e-mailed Rutlands today to chase the order as we are now mid-May, to get an e-mail back saying its out of stock until early June now. If I hadn't already sold the kity I would have cancelled the order by now, and am still sorely tempted too. The only thing...

    The opposite of Paxman

And therein lies the whole problem with all of this 'is it real - is it fake' psychology stuff. People who want to believe will believe, people who are sceptic will always be sceptical about anything other than the most hard evidence and even then still suspect its a trick but they haven't...

    Axminster Specials SALE at Sittingbourne

Sorry Mike, I was planning to go but SWMBO has other ideas and if I do make it, it will be late this afternoon. With regard to offers, as I said in the other thread on this subject - deals tend to be in the region of 10% or so, and all items are returns or slightly damaged / old display stock...

    kreg pocket hole jig

:-k Yes, suppose I could just screw at an angle with normal screws. I tend to find when doing this I always drill too close to the end of the timber and have a less than perfect result but with the number I have to do practice should make perfect! I always seem to fail to get the joints pulled...

you lucky people living down south

Yes, but their idea of a fantastic bargin and my idea of a fantastic bargin differ somewhat. You will be lucky to get much more than the 10-12.5% that they routinely offer on their 'back room' stock. If there is something in there you want then thats good, I got my xy morticer with 12.5% off...

    kreg pocket hole jig

Daft question - but can you use normal screws for the Kreg pocket hole jigs or do you need special Kreg screws? http://www.axminster.co.uk/product-Kreg-Mini-Kit-Pocket-Hole-Jig-22519.htm I have a large amount of studding to do and for a number of reasons do not want to be banging 4 inch nails...

Chatbot (Daft Wassock has added Link)

Wrong - Frankenstein was a Doctor/Scientist/Madman who brought a cadaver to life. As far as I recall the monster never actually had a name. Steve

    Warco Scrollsaw

If you can get it for £30 then yes. If it goes above 40 then better to go new IMHO - that looks a bit rusty. If you want cheap look at the SIP, which tends to get good reviews and costs around £70. Steve

    Warco Scrollsaw

Sorry, never heard of them! A google search doesn't locate one either, although there are several links to model making sites and threads on forums. Not sure therefore that I can offer any advice! Steve
