    Scheppach HS105

I think you're jumping the gun a bit here. I and many members have this saw without it blowing fuses. You should not need to change the plug to another higher rated than what it came with, ... if its pulling too much current that would suggest something else is wrong. Your problem with the...

    Scheppach HS105

I would try tbe suggestions above, but don't bother spending more money replacing the motor, its not worth it. How much did you buy it for? And have you not complained to the seller? Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk

Do you really need a vice on a bench?

Well, if you don't have the funds, you don't have a choice., you're going to have to research the ideas mentioned above. When you do have the funds, and if you do end up getting a vice (definately recommended), you'll be able to answer your own question, as you'll know what has become easier...

Doesn't it depend on what time you started?

    Woops (Wood movement)

A few months ago, I made a workbench for my garage. As I didn't have any long clamps, and to make assembly easier, I thought I would attach the long front/back aprons to the legs with a heavy duty bolt and nut. The side aprons use Mortise/Tenon and glue. This made things quite easy to assemble...

I don't find that at all, and he frequently does videos onvery cheap stuff too, like the bang good tools where he points out the pros and cons.

    Axminster : Knowledge

Just discovered this today (must be living under a rock). It's really quite good. They have loads of projects and useful how-tos. There are quite a few by some 'bloke' named Rob Stoakley .... god knows who that is ... https://knowledge.axminster.co.uk/category/how-tos/

What do you use compressed air blower in your workshop for?

So not a compressor blower, but I use one of these to blow off the shavings/dust off my body. I replaced the lead with a very long one and stand in the front garden blowing myself off. Lord knows what the neighrbours think!

    Cupping in boards

Lets say you buy the timber, and then bring it into the house to acclimatise for a month. Then you take it out to the garage (not insulated) to work on the project at hand, and this takes 2 - 3 weeks. Isn't it then going to move again as it'snow in a completely different environment? How should...

    Spindle gouge scooping

Hadn't thought about that :( Basically I have a load of 3" deep by 4" diameter side grain blanks that I am not sure what to do with (other than little bowls). Aren't you only cutting with the grain half the time though? With a side grain blank, I find that the end grain parts tear out...

    Spindle gouge scooping

I've been watching several videos on making small boxes, and when they need to scoop out the inside of the box, they use the spindle gouge to scoop from the center out to the rim. However, its always on end grain. All my blanks are side grain. Can I still use the same method? Sent from my...

    Disc Sander - any recommendations?

I've not used it to sand anything that big yet, but doing as you say, don't you find the difference in speed to be problematic? I have the Record one, and it arrived in quite the state. The table mechanism had completely seized as there wasn't enough play in the holes for it to pivot freely...

    Precise and Imprecise Tools?

Specifically hand planes and saws. And I'm not using the self taught thing as an excuse, many people are self taught and are amazing at what they do. Others need a little help. Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk

    Precise and Imprecise Tools?

If you have someone to teach you in person, or at least someone to guide you, then I would absolutely agree with all your points. But when you're self taught, it's a recipe for frustration, and is probably going to put you off the hobby altogeather. If you want to encourage someone into...

    Bluetooth ear buds

Interesting. I guess its one of those things you'd have to try really as its such a different design, but it looks like it would be tinny? Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk

    Precise and Imprecise Tools?

There is no doubt that you can make a cheap tool perform almost as well as an expensive tool (with fettling), but the key ingredient is a lot of experience. I find it quite irritating when you see people with 20 years+ experience telling newbies who have never used tool X, and are looking to...

    Bluetooth ear buds

They don't have active noise cancelation, but the seal around the ear is very good, at least for me (there are different sized buds included). It certainly makes a difference, although it won't be to the extent that a good set of ear defenders will provide. Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk

    Bluetooth ear buds

Just picked up a set of these and they are fantastic. I've been using wireless headphones for a while now, but the little cable joining the two buds has always annoyed me as the buds would pull out when I turn my head. These are independant, no wires, they have their own internal battery, and...
