    Depression

I am embarrassed to admit that I was one of those people that thought what have they got to be depressed about etc until the aftermath of a brain injury and the life changes it brought about caused me to suffer it myself  Its the most debilitating illness you can imagine and very...

    A simple garden chainsaw mill

Why would you bother for that quantity of timber, which you then have to have sat around seasoning for an age :? Unseasoned timber can be had relatively cheaply from any sawmill :ho2

    Skelton Saws

"Holtey has a backlog for £10,000 planes" Are you seriously comparing a dovetail saw that looks pretty much the same as numerous other offerings all at substantially lower prices to a Holtey plane :? But then again I suppose if they're prepared to pay £10,000 for a plane that will do the same...

    Skelton Saws

At £245.00 I'd be surprised if the backlog was excessive :?

    Insulated roller garage door

I've got two of the Hormann insulated doors which have been installed for around seven years and they're excellent. The only problem I've encountered with them is mice eating their way in through the rubber strip at the bottom

Apply cascamite glue to one or both surfaces?

I was reading a wheelwrights blog where he was laminating blanks from 1 1/4 " boards to make into hubs using cascamite and recommended sanding the faces with 60 grit to improve glue absorption. Is there any benefit to be gained from this ?

Totally flat solid Ash exterior door.

Sorry Blackrodd, but that heritage guy is considered a bit of a Barry Bucknall in the wheelwrighting fraternity. Ash is sometimes used as spokes (as no doubt other timbers are) but it was never the timber of choice in Britain. Oak has for hundreds of years been used for that purpose because of...

Totally flat solid Ash exterior door.

"Don't forget that ash is used for wooden spokes on horse drawn wagons" Ash is rarely used for spokes, Oak is the timber of choice for spokes. Ash is however usually used for the felloes (pronounced fellies as in tellies) but for its ability to withstand the impacts from the road rather than its...
