I don't know the sander, but on the subject of Mafell generally I can say that the saw I have is excellent quality. It feels better put together than most other power tool brands, although I cannot speak for Festool.

By the time the LN offering gets to the UK I'm sure you'll have been through 2 or 3 different setups for shooting and be ready for the new new thing
Digital SLR is without doubt the way to go. Big initial outlay but worth every penny spent in my view. I am now mainly using a 50mm 1:1.8 lens which is working out really well for furniture shots.

I don't recall any real detail being covered on woodworking machinery when I did my SMSTS - its a bit too specific.
I take it you work in construction? The list of stuff you need now is getting ridiculous. I have SMSTS (5 days) IOSH (4 days) First Aid (4 days). If thats not bad enough, now my...
I think Trend are poor. I have a couple of DeWalts and think they are excellent. A 626 in the router table and a 624 for handheld stuff and if buying now I would do the same again.
The deal at Axminster of the 625 with the new router raiser seems a reasonable offer.

You could use the smallest size of Miller Dowel which comes with a matched drill bit and in a variety of woods.
I'd also second Robs endorsement of the Veritas cutters.

Thanks for the comments guys. This was something I designed in my head and sketched on the whiteboard in the workshop, before turning into a CAD drawing. I generally reckon on doing that for all projects to ensure things turn out how I want them to.
The photography is something I work quite...
I've received what I think is my secret santa gift, so its gone under the tree. Just hope its not a delivery of smoked salmon or something that should have gone in the fridge! Its near the radiator so I'll know in a few days...

My current setup of 3 main planes are all bevel up with adjustable mouths. With this it is easy to close the mouth up tight, so because everyone says you should, I do. That said, through experimentation recently I am increasingly thinking that higher blade angles are the key to combatting tear...
Thanks mate. Although it was always intended as a gift for someone, as soon as it was finished it was evident that my wife wanted to keep it. I can see a Mk.2 coming along soon....

Just a reminder folks that posting deadlines are nearing (unless your flush enough to use Special Delivery)

Only a handful of people were let down on Christmas Day last year, I'd love to think we can make it...
I have a little local place I use - I just assumed most towns have somewhere similar you just have to track them down.

This one is my local - not suggesting you would want to use them, but I'll bet theres a local equivalent in one of your neighbouring...
Thanks for the comments guys.
John - I like the chiselled finish on the base of yours, in contrast to the smooth uprights.
Matty - I really like the ellipse offset within an ellipse, so I'm glad you spotted it.
Thanks for looking, Ed
