    Yet another wooden planemaking question.

I used the straight edged version of those blades in my Secret Santa plane; (never knowingly miss a chance to post a picture of it!) The blade and chipbreaker from Ron are both excellent. Only issue is that when I last looked no-one in the UK stocks these, so I had to import from the US. Ed

    Which 1/4" router?

I wouldn't - the trend routers I've used have been poor in comparison to DeWalt. Ed

    Plane Adjustment Hammer

I can see a space for a lathe right there already! Can you hear them calling to you Rob? Ed

    Oak Cabinet/Dresser (Almost a WIP)

Very nice Richard. Being tall and slim in form makes the piece look very elegant in my view. Ed

    Plane Adjustment Hammer

Hopefully this shows what you want. The lathe is a Winfield, which I think is basically a Myford copy, although a very early Myford. There is some info about Winfields on lathes.co.uk. Ed

Heres my metalworking area; Only recently set up like this, but seems to be working well so far. Ed

    Plane Adjustment Hammer

Thats basically what I've done. I used to keep my lathe in the garage but recently made a space to move it into the workshop so I have a metalworking / sharpening area. Admittedly it is effectively in/right next to the woodworking area but its separate enough for me. I'll take a picture in a...

    Oak and Holly Box

Nice work. That is some crazy spalting on the holly - has it affected the structure of the wood at all? Ed

    Plane Adjustment Hammer

It is pretty hard. It generally has some fairly nasty reversing and interlocked grain, but if you can get past that there is usually some beautiful figuring and it takes a lovely polish. bit of a chicken and egg situation there! Have you tried the bloke at lathes.co.uk? - he might be able to...

    Plane Adjustment Hammer

All in good time. I am planning to use this for lateral adjustment on planes with adjusters as I think it will be more precise in some cases. Ed

    Plane Adjustment Hammer

Thanks for the comments guys. The head is 75mm long, 18mm dia. The handle is 240mm long overall. Cheers, Ed

    Plane Adjustment Hammer

The recent discussions on plane hammers got me fired up to make one, especially having made one for Secret Santa and then parted company with it. Brass head, weighing 125g, with a milled slot to receive the handle. The handle is Cocobolo, fitted to the head with an Ebony wedge. The handle...

    Bed Rail Joints

I made a bed using dowels and aluminium angle brackets to reinforce the joints and found it failed after a year or two. I changed to use the Axminster bed bolts, which were excellent and has never had an issue since. That said, its in the spare room now so not used much these days. Ed

    Granite Attachment

When I use stone in that format in construction work I use Keil undercut anchors to fix it. Looking at the Keil website they appear to have a product intended for countertops, rather than buildings. http://www.tile-eze.com/CountertopAnchoring.html The issue may be the cost of the kit to drill...

    Lie Nielsen o1 chisels

I know its currently de rigeur to decry A2 as a load of crap, but I've been happy with all of my A2 tools. You may need to play around with bevel angles to get the steel to perform, but isn't that the case with all steel? Ed
