    Damn it's cold! What heater?

I know Wizer, if it were my property I would block in the up and over metal door for a start. Trouble is we only have it on a yearly lease.

    Snow!!!!

I don't think so Martin. I feel that the UK can't cope as they are not geared up for it. Canada and other countries do not have a problem, why does the UK?

    Damn it's cold! What heater?

Oil filled rad for me also, but I also have an electric fan heater to give instant heat. However, over the past few days I've left my heater on just to keep the basic heat, so that the blocks I've been painting will dry. Probably heating the street as well but can't help that :( Phil

Unusually high dyslexia incidence in the UK

Not sure what you mean Pete, could you please elucidate? I thought Dave was making a statement about the standard of English that is taught these days. I am fully aware of the problems faced by people who are dyslexic and have never passed judgement on the standard of writing on this forum.

DW, I find the situation acceptable as it is preferable to the alternative. I just pay my taxes and try not to think about the people who abuse the welfare system. C'est la vie Derek, she is possibly one of the minority who "works" the system. Phil

Unusually high dyslexia incidence in the UK

I cannot believe that some would say that spelling and punctuation were overrated  . The whole meaning of a sentence can be changed with the miss spelling of a word, or a comma in the wrong place.

Derek, what you have described is one example of a lone parent, is she representative of all single men and women who have children and do not work in the UK? Do you personally know this lady and her circumstances? I'm not going to be naive and say that she is not abusing the welfare system...
