    Axminster aws10 tablesaw

Thanks for advice above, my main concern is how to get at the motor, do I turn the table on end or get the castiron table off and turn that over? Or perhaps the side panels are removed? Things got so bad yesterday, attempting to rip a difficult 52mm thick piece of London Plane the timber would...

    Liberon Beeswax with pure turpentine

Liberon replied to the query re hole in lid. Thank you for your email. Yes, the hole is meant to be there. The wax is poured into the tin hot and as it cools it releases pressure, the hole helps this to escape. If the hole wasn't there the lid would pop off. I hope this information is...

    Liberon Beeswax with pure turpentine

Custard, if that is the explanation I think I should now seal the hole, it can only lead to wax drying out eventually. I did send Liberon an email but they never responded.

    Liberon Beeswax with pure turpentine

Back in the workshop 4 times the past week, two boxes and a large picture frame. The frame took a whole sheet of paper to work out the dimensions, forgotten how to set a plan up. However used some pallet battens chucked in a B & Q skip and was available free. Got to start on a clock when...

    Liberon Beeswax with pure turpentine

I purchased a tin of above last year and I notice the lid has a puncture hole in the centre. Is this normal for some technical reason or do I have a damaged container? Or should I seal it with a strip of selotape?

My first outing to the workshop 2015

Thanks for messages, I look forward to getting back into the workshop each morning even if its only for a short spell these days. Starting to remember were everything is and finding things I had forgotten I had. Finish those two boxes and then a picture frame and a clock to do.

My first outing to the workshop 2015

Well its the 24th August 2015 and I got back to this project three months later after my misfortune earlier this year. So cut the first mitres this year on my tablesaw jig and did rebates on the router and then glued the first carcass. Looks good this morning.

Thanks all, I will report to the site moderators at Wet Canvas, but they are frightening messages, not that I have any bank accounts on my internet.

    Virus? Scam?

This appeared in my emails this morning, the site is a very large art forum and has many active daily members, I have not touched anything or gone to the site etc. It does not appear to me to be a genuine Microsoft announcement? What do you think? Print screen of notice.

    Passport tip

An Australian friend of mine recommends a good tip. Write your email address in the back (contacts), if you leave your documents at a counter at airport etc. you are more likely to get immediate response. If you put your telephone numbers and you are abroad finders might not want to make...

    back in workshop

2nd frame I have not got a satisfactory photograph available, but went OK. Third frame unfinished, not happy with the internal framing, so still on the burner at moment. Having to do some decorating and plumbing at the moment so woodwork is in the background at present.
