    NICE FEEDBACK

Etsy is OK. I don't go mad at it with promotional selling but use the site simply for awareness. Selling bandsaw boxes will never be a profit making business, but it does help to pay for more timber and keeps me enjoying making them. I have slowed down this year for various reasons and need to...

    NICE FEEDBACK

It's nice to get feedback from customers when you sell something. A very nice lady (Zarra, who was buying as a present) who recently bought one of our boxes has sent the following to our Etsy site :- 'Exemplary customer service and stunning craftsmanship. When the box was shipped originally it...

    FINE DRIILS

Ahhhhh, but that is unless you have another idea for the 1mm an 2mm drill use! I agree the 0.5mm may be more of a toothpick. ..........................Don't ask! Malcolm

    yin and yang

Out of interest, has anyone re-coated the flocking and if so, was it satisfactory or rubbish finish? Malcolm

    yin and yang

Nice work Bob, you have a winner there. Did the re-flocking come out OK or were there any problems? Presumably you just painted over and re-flocked? I have never done that but on occassion thought I may need to one day. Malcolm

    Timber Suppliers

Far better wherever you go. B & Q are only for the stop gap, so search the forum for good timber suppliers like Sykes Timber that I go to. Very accomodating and always a large shed of offcuts in different stacks all priced. Malcolm

Correcting a Startrite pressed steel bandsaw table

My table-top was a reforced ply, not metal, but it worked well and I made it slightly larger which was a bonus. Malcolm

Correcting a Startrite pressed steel bandsaw table

HappyHacker has the answer, a steel plate over the top will give you a flat surface o work on. I had a small bandsaw and put a larger tabletop of ply on top and it worked well. Shouldn't bee too hard to find the material and get a slot cut in it for the blade. Then use a 3 x 2 as a fence if...

    record bs 400 bandsaw

Hi Alan, the third photo looks like you have the blade set too far forward. The guides should be set just off the blade sides and just behind the teeth on the to and bottob guides. The thrust bearing als needs to be set correctly, just behind the blade, but all settings of guides and bearings...

    Carved Green Man

That is a really great work, particularly for someone who has not done very much before. I would be very proud of that and although the oak may crack, that may enhance the work over time. Keep it up and I look forward to the next item posted. Bo you carve by hand or do you have a motorised...

    ARCHERS - ARROWS

Are there any archers out there? Ideally longbow, so wooden arrows, but other types of arrows, except carbon, would be useful. I am looking for old broken arrows, not new or useable now, so bits that have been chucked in a corner to be burnt or whatever. Again, ideally with fletches and the odd...
