Not a Plumber so WTF is going on

I am not a plumber either but this would be my guess. They say to avoid long runs outside to the drain, I cut mine so that there is an inch gap between where it comes out of the wall and the overflow pipe so that it can't back up.

    When needing large sash clamps

I have used a length of timber with blocks fixed with a single screw. Then tapped the bottom block to the side to tighten it. Same thing without the wedge. Needs to be fairly accurately sized to avoid pulling the item out of square.

How to strengthen a 19mm oak panel

when you say a desk, is this planned to be a sheet of material with a leg on each corner? if it is any size, I think that the aesthetic of this will look rather feeble, let alone the potential for sagging. If there is any weight on it, it will make the situation far worse too, it is surprising...

    Instagram followers!

I am interested how this works. Do you tell FB/Insta to target homeowners between certain ages, or certain incomes, or is it done another way. I am interested in general rather that the specifics of what you target.

leather sheath for small serrated saw, how to protect stitches from teeth

in theory though, if you are inserting the saw centrally, the teeth shouldn't touch the leather until it is fully inserted. Good theory, anyway. when drawing it out then the taper means that it wont touch at all. could you just make it ever so slightly wider than needed?

leather sheath for small serrated saw, how to protect stitches from teeth

could you add a third layer of leather, so that the blade hits this rather than the stitching?

    Blocking mice?

I wonder whether there is some form of essential oil that may deter them too. Not sure which, I am sure that some research will tell you but a drop or two of something like teatree oil might support other strategies. Don't use lemongrass oil, that one may attract swarms of bees!

    Sliding Mitre Gauge different slides

I think that there is only one standard size, 3/4*3/8 which ironically nothing much in the UK has!

    Harvesting wood by myself

There are a lot of eucalyptus species but they tend to have very limited uses. I have a feeling it isn't even good firewood.

    Leaking air compressor couplings

PTFE yes. Loctite I honestly dont know but I always thought that was a thread locking compound rather than a sealant. It is a brand name though, so there may well be a suitable product.

    Used lathes

exactly. buy what you want but for the price quoted of £600-800 (no idea whether this is right or wrong), I was pointing out that there are quite a few options on the used market. That may include variable speed, swivelling headstocks, other features. No features are universally needed, but may...

    Used lathes

I would add that whatever you buy, the one that is slightly more money but comes with a boatload of extras is often the best buy. Chucks, centres, faceplates and tools soon add up if bought separately.
