    Joke Thread 4 (closed).

I once worked in a food warehouse and was involved in a terrible accident. One day a large crate full of jars of curry sauce fell on me. I was in a korma for several days. (Let me add a 😡 now to save paulrbarnard bothering to do it....)

Actually, chaps, I've just heard that '23 is the final year for 198LW to cover test cricket, so with only one (not doubt, very exciting!) final test after Old Trafford, and the fact that I don't listen to anything else on LW, I won't be splashing out on any solution!

Getting the last Marmite out of the jar

Food of the Gods. On toast is a given. Marmite and cress sandwiches, especially if the cress is dry and out of the fridge. Marmite on crumpets. Marmite stirred in a beef and tomato Pot Noodle. We haven't been without (at least) one jar for 50 years plus. Used in cooking to gee up stews...

Lidl Parkside Planer / Thicknesser - your opinions please

You can't read their receipts after a few weeks/months anyway, so find an old one and bluff your way through! It does work. (er...so I've been told...)

Dreadful engine interference when trying to listen to the Old Trafford Test Match in the car - Increases with engine speed. Can't find it at all on medium wave, so that's out. Any gadget to rectify?

Half way across the Atlantic, the plane's starboard engines suddenly belched smoke and quickly burst into flame. No, there was not going to be a happy ending for this holiday flight... Esme, sitting in seat 43A, suddenly realised that life had left her behind. Single, stunningly beautiful but...

    My lucky day?

It's a cross I've had to bear for many years. That, and modesty.

    My lucky day?

When my m-i-law fell over for the umpteenth time, her carer suggested that all trip hazards - the kitchen mat, for example - be removed in the spirit of health and safety in the home. In the spirit of goodwill and forum cooperation, I feel obliged to suggest that you rid yourself of the risk of...

Joke thread commentary, criticism and explanations.....

Talking of having to explain things, I've just noticed that our local bus shelter has the bus timetable in a glass-fronted frame. Underneath the times, it has an explanation of how the 24 hour business works, together with a dozen little clock diagrams showing examples. Really?! Ye Gods....

Went in our local bakery this morning... "Loaf, please..." "Soft thick white?" Well, I've been called a few things over the years, but really.....!

    Joke Thread III

"Well then, young Rachel....you're a rare sight in my surgery! Usually you young 'uns are fit and healthy, so what's on your mind?" "For the last few weeks I've had these strange green marks on the inside of my legs. I just hope it's nothing serious..." "Hmmmm. I've heard you've been knocking...

    Woss Dis Den?

Ah...security tags, huh? So the bare metal bits once formed a loop, you mean....and have been cut. New photo shows t'other side.... Niall Y might be nearer the truth than not. There are literally dozens of the things, some black, most red. Colours denoting item value/loop diameter? Maybe random...

    Woss Dis Den?

Picked this up on my dog walk this morning. There are dozens of 'em on some waste ground near the railway line. It'll be obvious to lots of folk what they are, but I'm not one of 'em! Answers, please!

    Tiny 8 x 6 workshop, Part 2. Sort of...

Just been rooting around in the cellar, and came across this, which I'd completely forgotten about. I remember buying a Black&Decker WallMate at some point, but don't recall forking out for this....maybe left by a previous resident. Definitely B&D (but made in Ireland according to the stamp...

    A Glastonbury "secret"....

Well, secret to me, anyway. My wife's 25 year old work colleague announced that her sister and pal were going to Glasto again, especially keen to see the Arctic Monkeys - why?! - and another big name that escapes me for the minute. Apparently the plan was to get as far to the front as early as...
