Has the forum been hacked ?

Wow who's idea was this layout? Talk about wasted space - you could fit an entire post in the spaces between posts - now it's endless scrolling between them, maybe on some peoples phones with mahoosive screens you can fit two posts but not on mine - I have to scroll to read every. single. one...

    Airless paint sprayer problem

If you are using water based Roger - one tip I can recommend for cleaning is adding some thoroughly dissolved laundry detergent into the cleaning water - or adding soda crystals to a quantity of it, just make sure they are fully dissolved before shooting, or mix it strong in a bucket and decant...

    Airless paint sprayer problem

Spraying isn't just about how much time might be saved over a roller, it's also the reapplication time bonus. Because of the nature of spraying, the paint on the wall dries that much faster because it contains less solvent - for waterbased paint thats sprayed this is magnified even more. With...

How much will this door stop sell for??

I remember those - wan't allowed to have one - a real drag.....

I'm done with the For Sale section of the site

Having just checked my emails I have been given some information that changes my perception of what occured with Bodgers. Apparently he was given every opportunity, argued it, argued some more and then got the hump before the sales thread could be re-instated minus the "give me offers" post...

I'm done with the For Sale section of the site

There was none for sure, but Naz should have been notified - or if he was - notified in a way that left no room for ambiguous interpretation. I know some people have issues with the PC crowd, but Naz isn't an ***** he must have known it was, what it was. Even my 72 yr old father does, because...

I'm done with the For Sale section of the site

Hahaha - how very strange - I was only referring to that particular LoB scene a week ago on a different forum about bias from moderators shown towards "fanboys" of that particular game allowing them to disparage, sometimes quite harshly those who would criticize the game; all the while heavily...

I'm done with the For Sale section of the site

*sigh* - see what happens? you question a mod and they jump on you. I've BEEN a moderator, for YEARS on several gaming forums - you should try that if you think this one is hard work where all the members are adults. I know the score. I also know that personal bais alters how a moderator...

I'm done with the For Sale section of the site

Ordinarily Phil I'd agree it's a subtle semantic difference and can be seen either way, but then I've also seen moderators reminding pictures are required, so again, there's disparity which needs to be addressed and the whole thing re-examined for clarity. We all understand and accept that...

I'm done with the For Sale section of the site

Hmm - while I agree there are rules to be followed - would it have been such a hardship to just send Bodgers a PM and alter his post until he can ammend it rather than just delete it outright? Seems incredibly heavy handed, more on the order of forums run by gaming companies that will harbour...

    Tree photos

I do like trees - but for me it's old wooden doors, specifically non UK ones. I've probably photographed the majority of "interesting" wooden doors in Palma, Mallorca and surrounding area.

    Screwfix and Toolstation

I also found out about screwfix's "out of date" credit system when I happened to mention I was buying something as a replacement for something else (8 hinges in this case for a job that got delayed) I'd bought before that was the wrong size. "no problem she says, bring them in - we can check...

    Fitting a fire place

This is the version I've been told when I worked for a few months at a fireplace restoration company couple of years back, cleaning up the fascias and swapping out damaged tiles for new or new old stock (messy and time consuming - gotta be DAMN quick with that plaster of paris resetting the...

You couldn't make it up .............

Personnally I don't think that's what this is in this case - it looks far too realistic, I think a company scanned a wooden one and just use that as one of it's output options. If you are going to deliberately design a wood effect, why not just make it look like whole staves of wood, or planks...

Not quite the joke it seems, - updated

Update: When I first posted this issue - it received very little traffic and some frivalous comments. Well now it seems, finally, these practices are being exposed to the wider public; and many agree this is dishonest and misleading. https://www.theguardian.com/business/sh ... WEML6619I2 It...

    Ultex diamond stones offer

Never thought of that Pete - thanks.

    Ultex diamond stones offer

Beat me to it - I have 300 / 600 / 1200 and all three are bowed along the length - the 1200 quite markedly, 2 mm or so. I pointed this out to ITS, who basically said "it's not our fault gov" - I did consider sending them back, but for sharpening they are fine.

    Free standing wood panelling...???!!!

Can't attach to the walls with anything, anywhere, the "some sort of foot arrangement" would mean feet sticking out 2 foot at least (how heavy is a broadswoard and musket... anyone know?) if the load is only on the face side - the idea of weighting the back side might be able to help with that...

    GONE FTAGH Solid Oak Worktop

I was offered one of these not long ago for a similar purpose that had also been used as a desk with legs at just the corners so I have to ask - is yours flat? (the other one had a bow of more than an inch).
