Does anyone else make a point of photographing trees?

Copper Beech - estimated to date from 1770, it's due to be taken down in a couple of weeks due to internal fungal infection. Sad, but it'll have a good afterlife and new ones are being planted in its place.

It was 7 years ago, must pop back and have a look.
Will feel sad if it's gone though......

Not so much now, but fairly recently I needed to take multiple dozens of photographs of tree related images for a project I was working on. Not just of standing or living trees, but also felled trees, ancient trees, leaves, seeds, fungi, insects, all sorts of stuff really. I do find trees and the issues surrounding them endlessly fascinating. Slainte.

Cannot find the photo of the tree in situ but it was a very large Beech in my daughter’s garden infected with honey fungus - produced this lot:

that must have been a very large tree to produce all those logs. should keep them warm for a time (if only shifting them)

I like how they look in autumn, that's usually when you get the best shots

Trees are one of the finest looking things, always a shame when an old one has to come down. Beech infested with fungus looks really nice doesn't it? I am not sure how much fungus is needed and what sort.

Drphill, those remind me of New Zealand temperate rainforests.

Heres some of my pictures, i take a lot of trees! Have kept it to one per season.

Summer and something that might be a rare sight in the future :(

I do like trees - but for me it's old wooden doors, specifically non UK ones. I've probably photographed the majority of "interesting" wooden doors in Palma, Mallorca and surrounding area.
