    what are CLIFTON doing.....

Newbie, it isn't the new owners that raised the colour issue so why would you think I was addressing them ? All good equipment made in Britain ( as opposed to the mass of foreign rubbish ) should be supported irrespective of whatever colour it is. Brian

    what are CLIFTON doing.....

A plane is simply a tool to do a particular job, if it does the job it was made for then what does it matter what colour the manufacturer paints it.

Steve's workshop - Painting the outside walls

I've found this is so very interesting, seeing all the pics and accompanying explanations makes it the first thread I look at when I log in. In a way it will be sad when it's all finished Steve, although I don't suppose you'll be sorry.

    Canadian Speed Control

Speed control being used in Canada . How's this for effective speed control? I don't know about you, but this would certainly slow me down! People slow down and actually try to "straddle" the hole. This is an actual speed control device that is currently in use. It is MUCH cheaper...

    Axminster search facility

I had to read several posts in this topic to discover what what meant by a bench brush. In my profession we used what we called a dust brush or dusting brush. If the OP had searched for what he needed by either of those two names then I doubt he would have been subjected to frustration.

    Winter payment

About this time of the year, older taxpayers will again be receiving another 'Winter Fuel’ payment. This is indeed a very exciting programme, and I'll explain it by using a Q & A format: Q. What is a 'Winter Fuel’ payment ? A. It is money that the government will send to older taxpayers. Q...

Wood filler to use on doors to be painted

Hi Pebbles, I was a professional painter & decorator (long retired) and I recommend using Isopon p38 as a filler, it's a polymer filler with a hardener, very easy to apply and sands very smooth..... should be available from Halfords or a car accessories shop. Bare wood should...

    No Elf & Safety ?

A person took this picture yesterday, in Shakopee, MN. He and one of his co-workers were driving by and had to circle the block. It's a guy cutting down a tree in his backyard. The cops showed up, telling the guy he couldn't do what he was doing. He told them to go to hell it's his...

Steve's workshop - Painting the outside walls

Steve, as a non woodworker I find this thread very interesting and virtually compulsive to read, as the saying goes: the pictures are worth a thousand words ..... keep up the good work :D Incidently, who is taking the photos ?
