I did a little apple wood This bowl. It split a couple of days later. I did other objects and made them smaller and thinner and they only become disfigured which is'nt so bad

Has anyone got the four jaw chuck for the clarks cwlb6 woodturning lathe? I need some guidance on the best use for it. My work is always off centre even after adjusting the base to what I think is perfectly level. Also my work sometimes flies off the lathe even when I feel the job is tight enough.

Being a comparatively new starter I've just aquired some pieces of apple in short lengths and wonder how to use it. It is quite wet as it's really fresh. can I shape it or should I keep it?Also how should I store it under the curcumstances?

Hi TEP and Morning all yes I'm just looking for a finish that can be used as a regular finish. I don't want loads of tins of finish lying around. It seems uneccessary when all that is needed is to make the wood look good and not the stain.
