Arachis oil

Can arachis oil be used to any purpose in the staining of wood or is it a
no-no

Hi T.allan, never used 'arachis oil' but I would be very wary if only for the reason that it comes from peanuts. I believe it is supposed to be OK for people with nut allergies, but I don't think I would be willing to take the risk.

There are far more suitable oils purpose made for wooden items such as Danish or Finishing oils.

Hi TEP and Morning all
yes I'm just looking for a finish that can be used as a regular finish. I don't want loads of tins of finish lying around. It seems uneccessary when all that is needed is to make the wood look good and not the stain.
