    Started the workshop at last

    'breathable membrane, then 18mm OSB, and covered with Wicks felt shingles' Should be osb, breathable membrane then shingles .So that water vapour passes through osb and membrane then dissipates around the shingles.

    I think a strip of dpc is fixed to the under sheathing so the frame and boards meet half way across it so any water then is directed downwards to the base, above the window it directed outwards

    Seems to me that you should separate the system to say one outlet (there are plastic fittings to block soil pipe)and see what amount of suck you get then work from there to find and fix the performance loss.

    It looks scratched to me so cleaning it will not solve the problem maybe you could glue a suitable surface on to it or repaint it. The freezer may not have a lot of value second hand anyway (lots on freecycle around here).

    Jigsaw setting chipboard alight ...

    Start with a new blade chip bd. kills blades check it runs free in its guide wheel and try different amounts of pendulum action make sure you are not side loading the blade.
