You need to remove the varnished finish one side and possibly the stress reliving grooves the other side. I'd use epoxy for a really strong joint.

Needs more details - what's the roof design? The window is it several panes or a single big one?

Also don't woodwork esp with power tools when tired or angry..... At best you make mistakes at worst you loose fingers...

Looking on eBay an equivalent set are about £650 so b+Q are taking a hefty cut. Your local place will be under £700 for exactly the same quality door.
