Hand Tool Cabinet Build - Finally Completed

Chisels and gouges behind the rh door flap. I left a bit of room in places in the cabinet for expansion too but it took ages to figure out where to put stuff. I spent many an hour playing with big A0 sheets of paper and cut outs and then drawing round tools to get it to fit 🤣 Kind...

Hand Tool Cabinet Build - Finally Completed

Thank you, appreciated and…. Mmmmm, good question. Well it was about 10 months. I work full time so it was only on weekends as and when I could. In terms of man hours, I reckon about 300 man hrs is my best estimate. Kind Regards..........Rob

Help Me… I’m trying to find a Unicorn of the Stanley variety!!!

The sarcastic unfriendly response isn’t at all helpful to be honest and absolutely not required! The research that I did led to me understanding what I stated above. I’m obviously lacking the knowledge and skills in this area and looking for advice from someone who might know where to buy the...

Help Me… I’m trying to find a Unicorn of the Stanley variety!!!

I’m really struggling to find a #12-20 tap and die for matching the thread on Stanley planes for restoration purposes. Does anyone know where I can buy a bottom out plug tap and a die? I’m guessing that even if there’s somewhere out there, that it’s probably going to be a pretty penny anyway so...

Battery Chargers in the UK and Electrolysis

Can I ask what voltage and amps you use please. I’m looking at getting a 30v 10A PS myself and know it will be adequate but just curious as to what settings you use. Amongst other things(im an electrician ), I’m planning on possibly using it for old tool restorations. Kind Regards..........Rob

    Workshop inside roof

Thank you. I did think that the foil tape will provide enough of a vapour barrier especially since I’ve taped the joists too. Kind Regards..........Rob

    Workshop inside roof

Hi everyone, I just wanted to post here to ask what you think about this situation. I am currently insulating my workshop roof and as you can see insulated with Kingspan insulation board I’m now going to ply over this, however I am unsure whether I need to bother with a vapour barrier. I know...

    Oak Veneer Buying Advice

I want to get some oak veneer roll for sticking to some already purchased ply. I have the ply already and the project is semi built so not going to purchase veneered ply. It will be my first time doing this and I’ve browsed the net but unsure where best and most cost effective to buy from. Any...

Retirement workshop - which machines to buy?

Hi adhb, its great to see you enjoying your woodworking and expanding the operations. Dust Extraction: If it were me, I would buy the best most powerful dust extraction you can get. I only have a single garage sized workshop and use a Henry with a long hose but it does me for now, i just move...

Insulating A Single Skin Brick Garage Workshop

This situation is very similar to mine. I'm going to insulate the roof and the wood garage door properly but as for the walls... with it being not much distance between the internal brick walls, i cant afford to lose any from it as it just eats into the available space and its not wide enough as...
