"then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it." — Monty Python

Personally I'm more of a two man, but have been known to pop in a third if I'm feeling naughty!

Rounded. I count that as an infinite number of micro bevels, more than anybody else, so I claim first prize.

If I ground my iron convex, then honed a micro bevel that would make it infinity + 1. Therefore I win!

If I hand grind the primary, then hand grind the secondary that would make it infinity times two. I win!

There's an opportunity for some printed T-shirts:

"He who dies with the most bevels wins!"

Bevel down planes and chisel are freehand honed on a hollow = 1 bevel.

Bevel up planes are given a micro secondary bevel with a guide = 2 bevels.

What about a Rule Trick bevel? I use this on BU plane blades.

I grind one bevel. Either a flat bewel or a convex one depending on the type of tool. I grind and hone freehand because I could not afford any jigs so I had to learn the old way and once learned it isn't too difficult.

Jap chisels / bevel up irons 1 bevel. Other none jap chisels and bevel down irons 2 bevels. Never tried the ruler trick. I have my methods that work for me and will stick with them. :)

One. Probably. Sometimes two if I'm feeling cheeky. I'm not really all that bothered, I was just feeling left out and thought I might boost my post count...

I do have a serious question about sharpening, which came as a surprise to me after almost 30 years of making things sharp enough to cut other softer things, but I might save it for a quiet moment.

Concave grind on the primary...then hone across this using the front and the back as a guide.

Adjust for difficult grain....

Except very old and short irons where a convex primary exists then I just made a secondary bevel until a wire forms with rough diamonds and break the wire by honing the face.
