I will not buy anymore tools...
today i had a nice surprise kinda.
a man comes on monday to help my grand dad with his various garden projects and he does market stalls all around somerset so he buys and repairs vintage clothes and furniture. he occasionally brings things for me to repair/cast my eye over/tell him what it is. so today i saw this in the back of his van and spent the morning trying to buy it off him. in the end he said i could keep it if i made him a very simple thing.
so its a monster takes a 4" blade , sadly the blade and wedge is missing but i think it makes a great stool. i think its heavily figured oak (conformations please).
the stunning grain
with my bedrock 607 on top to give an idea of size its 120cm long 16cm wide and 12cms thick it weighs a bleddy ton
also theres a chalked on price of £250  hows reasonable does this sound?
