Using the zoom window tool in Sketchup Pro 7 creates loads of lines and boxes, is it a problem, BUG or are my settings wrong.

I have not seen or heard of it before - can you post a screen shot and also say which version number and whether Mac/PC and which version of the OS etc you are using?

I've heard of it and even seen it. It sounds like a video card issue. You can try changing the OpenGL settings under Preferences. You may find that with Hardware Acceleration not ticked, it works better. You might also find that updating the video drivers for your video card help the problem. Or, you may need to replace the video card. SketchUp is designed to work best with nVidia chipsets on the video card and the video card must support OpenGL. If you do install a new card, get one with as much RAM as you can afford.

Thanks Dave

Changed settings for openGL and it did make a difference, solved the problem but creates a rougher drawing.

I'm using a Sony 18" laptop latest model with Vista, nvidia card, can't seem to find any driver updates for this model. Sony VGN-AW31M.

Everything else seems OK

Thank you Steve and John.

I'm no expert on Vista but my understanding is that it doesn't really do OpenGL. I remember when Vista was first released, graphics chip manufacturers like nVidia had to scramble to write driver updates to deal with that. You may be running into issues with that. You can also try ticking or unticking Use Fast Feedback to see if that changes anything.
