I want to make some for my nieces, are they as ***** proof as they look, to turn.
Any fancy ideas once I have churned out a few basic ones?

Easy to turn as long as you get both sides the same and balanced

I would think making a segmented blank from contrasting woods would produce very attractive finished yoyo.
