Yew

I expect this has been asked many a time but here go's.
I have made a small bowl with a lid out of Yew, as a present for a work mate and would like to say something about the wood I have used, but I haven't a clue.
I could say I got it from Yandles as that's about all I know, oh and the trees grow in grave yards so I have been told.
Can anyone give me some pointers.
