Yet another workshop

I am in the process of doing up and moving into a new house. While the house is a bit of a wreck I have somehow mange to sort most of the workshop out :twisted: . I have explained to the wife that I can't do any work in the house without it.
Heres the general shot of the garage. It about a car and 3/4's width and its a little damp but I have put some seal strips on the door and added a dehumifier.

I made up some cupboards to store stuff neatly, I intend to put doors on but I havn't had chance to yet.

Heres my router table and some more storage. Up the stairs leads to my timber store which is some shelves above the stairs.

Heres my bench, it took me 11/2 days to build which I was well chuffed with. It is a pine base from offcuts from my loft room and a top of two fire doors and a sheet of mdf. The sides are lipped with a beech worktop offcut from ikea. The base is constructed with drawbored tenons which is such a simple method of joining things i can'y believe I have not used it before. The vice jaws are not finished yet and I need to add all the dog holes. It is based on the Roubo design but I just wanted a thick top and legs to attach big stuff too.

This is my tool chest. It was copied from a design in fine woodworking and is pocket hole screws and is very basic. The chisel holders are a bit naff but it was quick to make. I will be improving it.

So is the plan to keep the workshop at the house permanently Owen or just till the house work is done. I liked your work workshop especially the floor. Nice Sedwick P/T in the background.

Its a permanent move. So I'm making the best of it. Pretty happy with the space but the floor is a bit cold.
The sedgwick is a bit of a beast and needed some setting up. But its seems to be working good now. Just got to make a dust extraction box.

No problems it's my bandsaw that's giving me jip at the moment. Had the top rear thrust bearing seize a few days ago, replaced it with a new one but unless the bearing is running spin free smooth then it wanders when resawing deep pieces. The new one is a little un worn in so untill it does I'm a bit stuck with my current project.

Maybe you could make a hardwood zero clearance block to get you going??

Have you thought about putting floor tiles down? I put thick polythene underneath them in my garage and they have warmed the place up no end. you get them from Maplins.

That looks a good idea. I am a bit tight on ceiling height as i am quite tall. I was originally going to overboard the floor but I have got to get on with the house or my wife may not let me survive till christmas.

Looks like a very good and well equipped workspace.

Everything seems fine, apart from the Hammer saw/spindle which should be in my workshop...

The mats are OK, very good for the feet & legs. Costo have been selling these for well over a year now (sometimes on special offer). We have them around all the machines & in front of the bench etc.
But they are no good for a complete workshop floor if your assembling etc.

I really like your saw/spindle moulder. Where most people barely have space for the one machine, I think they're an excellent space saver - if you need something more than a router table, of course. :wink:

Nice workshop and some very nice tools. Wish I had that much space, would make things so much easier. All I have is a smaller than average single garage .
