There's usually a decent amount to pick over on Sat...I've always managed to find a few good bits. The much bigger question and of far more importance...

Just got back from Yandles...spent a bl*&%$y fortune but at show prices, the CC took a bit of caning Came away with (not literally) a Charnwood W650 tablesaur, Startrite bandsaw, Sheppach dust collector for the t/s (the last one, so a hefty discount) and Record midi-lathe, all with substantial margins knocked off \/ The timber shed also got a visitation and I came away from there with a superb chunk of 75mm thick elm and some very clean boards (25 and 50mm) of American Cherry (no sap inc :mrgreen: ) plus a nice little lump of ebony.
Good also to meet up with Chas, Rog M and Rod (Harbo)...thanks for the tea Rog, much appreciated. Did you go for the Camvac in the end? - Rob...feeling like a kid in a sweet shop

Yes a very nice day out and the weather was reasonably kind too.
Saw Rob clutching a very large invoice for the goodies he's ordered ! Lucky man?
Lots of cars in the car parks but it seemed a bit quieter this year?
No big items for me - some bits of exotic woods, some Chestnut wax, brass ferrules from AI and a couple of Bessey clamps on special.
Had a nice chat with Philly who was demonstrating on a very impressive and expensive Maple workbench from LN. Was privileged to see an amazing miniature smoothing plane in Blackwood he has made - beautifully crafted.

Yep. A grand day out. Came away with a Camvac 386 twin motor extractor as a treat to my lungs, plus a couple of Bessey quick clamps as company for the two I got at the spring show. Then came home via Axminster where I got 10 x 300mm x 100mm Axminster F clamps which I've found to be my favourite clamp for general use. Well, you can never have too many!

Mind you, the cc got away lightly compared to Rob's! (hammer) :mrgreen:

Just got back in after obligatory stop off in Street shopping village for Boss to see if there were any must-haves, (found a few things I didn't know I needed).

Raided the Tool Steel Bins at Ashley Isles and found a couple of other bits and pieces for the shop that were hiding in totally different places now Yandles have yet again had a move round since I last visited.
Terry at Chestnuts was his usual cheery self and doing a steady trade whenever we passed by, Philly was busy polishing and waxing some bits of metal with, I think they are called blades, peeping out of the bases. looked as though they might be made to do serious damage to the fancy bit of wood they were resting on if he's not careful. The little Blackwood smoother was a treasure, just right for 12th. scale modelers.

Just leaving and spotted Rob drooling over a cart load of Cherry that was destined for who knows what but it looked as though it would be in good company judging by the lump of Elm already in the car. Rog M introduced himself, (good job too, I'm lousy at putting names to faces) and when I left them both to head back into the fray I got the distinct impression that there was some mutual tool acquisition bonding going on. (judging by the previous posts it sounds as though the plastic presentation phase worked well)

Some excellent samples of wood in stock, just glad my stocks are high as replacement prices a bit eye watering on some pieces.

Just returned too, and unloaded the wood stash!

Nice 3" thick Elm Burr, Cherry, Sapele, Beech, Walnut, Olive, Yew and a gorgeous piece of 8ft Lacewood!
