Hi ALl,

don't be too harsh on me, first attempt at something like this, and i really found i had to think about cuts before i touched the tools.

I hope to make a multipart one next, then maybe move onto segments for the ball section.

I'm quite pleased. apologies for the photo quality, really must get that tent set-up.

That's OK LOZ, mastered another of the basics, how to produce a thin stem without the rest of it flying off to the firewood bin.

I guess nobody was watching you at the time, it does help considerably in the success stakes :lol:

Guessing from the punchholes in the background,it's only about 50mm/2" diameter ? So a very neat,well-executed piece indeed.

Thanks All,

Yes its only about 2" dia at the ball section, and about 6" long. Looks better in real life, so i really need to get my camera work up a notch.

Great looking decoration loz. What did you do to get the contrasting colour. Is it different wood glued in or burnt etc?

I wanted to get some Christmas decorations turned, but i am not allowed!!!!!!!!! Have to help with the 9 pups Indy, my Labradoodle had 4 weeks ago. Guess who shovels the Sh*t!!!!

HIYA Loz, doing some nice stuff now the old lessons are beggining to come to the fore . What you have posted in the past couple of months shows the effort your putting in. Keep at it I think your the only one on this side of the pond thats flying the old flag, but I will be with you in spirit .I wish I'd taken this up 30yrs ago, but then we would not get the help and advice of the Forum folk .What a differance a PC makes.
