Well theres a shock.

Russia 2018, and that extremely well know footballing nation Qatar 2022 pipped us.

I wonder if FIFA is an corrupt and political organization ?

As for Qatar, I wonder how a country with terrible infrastructure, poor stadiums and no footballing heritage got 2022? I'm sure each and every member of FIFA's committee will be able to retire in lavish luxury after todays farce.

On the radio yesterday the say a football stadium cost about £200 million, and everything in Russia costs about 4 times more because of the back handers.

In a country that yet to have a proper roads structure, I wonder how many teams will be playing on local fields with jumpers for goal posts. :lol:

After seeing the 'figures' (guesstimates, as we all know these things end up way over forecasts) I'm glad we didn't get it.
Holland estimated an overall loss of 150M Euros and that's without paying Fifa all their 'Tax concessions', I think we would have ended up losing way more than that and could well do without it given our current state.

I like football but really don't care that the World Cup won't be here.

Russia I understand - they want to develop the game there, but Qatar is just ridiculous - it's half the size of Wales with no previous interest in football.

Australia would be a much better choice, IMHO.
