Hi,

After 1.5 years the garden is complete and shed in place. I have just had the first fix of electrical work but I now need to consider sounding proofing the shed: Equipment in the workshop will be a Triton 2000 Workcentre, Triton router Table, Makita Thicknesser, Rexon Jointer, Axminster Dust extractor and band saw; Security to the shed and equipment will be dealt with later; ventilation though air vents but closed blocked during machine working, opened up after;

I would like to minimise noise coming from the shed: Given the location should I do more or better than below?

I am considering this approach on all walls
  • Expanding foam in any cracks
  • Wickes Heavy Density Insulation leaving a void
  • Plywood on top

Ceillng
  • Gap between roof and the semi permable mebrane
  • Wickes Heavy Density Insulation leaving a gap
  • Plywood on top

I insulated my shop with 50mm celotex all around completely roof walls the lot. I did this mainly for heat but have found it has sound proofed it aswell.
