workshop roof joist advice

first post so bear with me
just had a 12x8 feet block shed built
what size roof joist should I have I was thinking of 5x2on hangers then roof
boards then felt and battened to protect from wind damage
does this sound ok

ps anyone got any good planes for a work bench

ive allways played with cars and vw campers but due to major spinal surgery I cant anymore so I decieded to have a play with woodworking been collecting wood working tools over the last year now got a router ,chop saw,sanders,circular saw and loads of hand tools.
next things to get are a router table and a table saw when funds allow
I was told to build my own router table not to sure on that .

The tables are not bang up to date but should be fine just convert to metric choose your roof design and find the size required and spacing.
