I think you should be looking at a door blank with 10mm veneers.

That was the reason for solid timber. The person who wants it made didn't want veneers or laminates. I'm having a feeling that this job could be out of the question if made from solid oak due to the amount of movement in the timber....

Each one of those boards is going to move a different amount.

It probably would not break the glass when it moved but there is a good chance that movement would cause the seal to fail and mist up the unit.

It sounds to me that this may be a job to walk away from as you might be backwards and forwards trying to sort out problems.
