Woodturning blanks in essex

Hi I'm just starting out and I was wandering where I can get blanks to start turning I'm in southend on sea and I've tried google but no joy I don't mind driving to pick them up many thanks newbie

Well worth a trip down to stiles and bates in Dover. Take a lot of money as you will want to buy it all

How about Brooks Bros in Maldon and Danbury. You might try them, they don't do blanks but you might be able to get off cuts?

Try Limehouse Timber in Stock Road Industrial estate. It's been a couple of years, so not sure he'll be there anymore! I don't know of anyone else who sells hardwood in the Southend area unfortunately, so if you don't want to drive it may need to be mail order.

A longshot would be to ask in Marshall and Parsons, the chaps there are pretty knowledgeable and they definitely used to sell turning tools.
