Anyone know anything about a a Woodster 2 bandsaw (model BS412, bench mounted)?

The guide bush that sits below the table, face on the the rear of the blade has almost completely worn away (to the point where the ball bearings are exposed).

Despite being almost twenty years old, the bandsaw is a great workshop slave and, apart from the worn bushes, there seems to be nothing wrong with it.

The Woodster distributors tell me there are no spare parts available for this model any more. The French manufacturers tell me the same.

I wondered if anyone out there had either the same problem (unlikely) or knew of any third party spares that would fit.

It would be a great shame to have to get rid of this machine purely on this basis - what a waste.

Any help/advice much appreciated.

ps first post - hope this is the right forum.

Hi Zebidee, and welcome to the forum.

I have had the same problem in the past with some of my machinery, and have been lucky enough to 'manipulate' other parts to fit.

I am in the process of trying to change the motor over from a 3 phase to single on a Barrie Irons overhead router thingy, which has taken me a while as the motor sat upside downish and was quite a size, and I don't seem to be able to get one the same size. A bit of lateral thinking later (ie - someone here told me!!) and I am gonna try and fit a router to the fitting. Maybe if you show some pics?

HTH, sorry I couldn't be specific.

Neil
