Looking at both what would you buy?

Prices seem to be about the same maybe a little dearer for the Router Boss.

Has any body used the Router Boss?

I have owned a Rat for a couple of years or so and spent a lot of time making it work properly. I like my Woodrat, but rarely use it (the table gets more use) and consider it a 'work in progress' with too little development as sold.

I would buy the Router Boss as it has some innovative ideas - several additions I have already added to my rat!!

You can buy my rat if you want, and I'll buy a Boss

What would you say is the advantages of a router boss over a woodrat? There have been some modifications/improvements to the woodrat, so why would you now buy a boss?

I've had my rat for some 8 years and I have done some serious work with it. Yes it does need a jig, clamp made to carry out some work. But as far as I am concerned it's better than any router table that I have seen. This is my own opinion, have a look at my kitchen blog to see what was made by the rat.

I've never used a Router Boss, but as far as I can see it won't do anything that a well fettled Woodrat can't do. And there's the rub. To get a Woodrat working efficiently takes a lot of fiddling. If you've the time, inclination, perseverance, and skill to stick with a Woodrat it's a superb bit of kit, but don't think it'll deliver it's top potential straight out of the box.
