Was thinking of making my youngest son some form of wooden trucks , ive made some little cars for him before out of some bits of scrap pine i had , but i was thinking more along the lines of something bigger that could be left on a shelf for him to keep .
I know some on here have made such things and was just looking for a bit of inspiration , or maby a few photos to give me some ideas on what can be made :D

Thanks Mic

Do you mean truck as in trolly to carry bricks or truck as in lorry? How old is your son? I don't have any photos but there are numerous books out there with this kind of stuff in - try Richard Blizzard for some of the more accurate 'model' type toys or a book called 'Tremendous Toy Trucks' for some more robust child friendly versions. I can recommend this one, as can my son!

I like Amazon for this kind of thing as books offer a large number of ideas that often interlink, rather than buying a single one off plan.

 should have explained better sorry , he is coming up 3 , i mean as in lorry , i made him a pull along trailer with blocks some time ago , so im thinking more of an ornament type of thing

Mic,
I wouldn't have thought a typical three year old would be much interested in ornaments.

Like Steve, I think Richard Blizzard is the chaps to look to for this age. I hadn't seen "Tremendous Trucks" before but that looks very appealing.

As an alternative, how about making him a junior sized bench so that he can follow in Dad's woodworking footsteps? Hammering nails into a block of wood should still have its attraction at age 3 I reckon.

Hi Mic here is another Les Neufeld (Tremendous Toy Trucks) reccomendation,
I have built 3 of the trucks and 2 off the Big Foot on the front cover and my grandchildren love them, my youngest grandchild is 3,

Cheers Nigel

I used to have most of Blizzard's books and some of the toys he made (some were too good to be called toys) were outstanding...well worth getting hold of if you can - Rob

Excelent , thanks chaps , i have just ordered it and look forward to getting started , after reading some of the readers reports it was a must have :D
