this is basically as far as i am at the moment, its to cold and the expoxy goes to thick and is no good to use so im going to have to wait for it to warm up abit :( , big thanks to my grandad for letting me use his garage and all his help.

Interesting build, other than Ray Mears not seen a canoe being done before. Looks like it's coming along nicely

Looking good Shim, how long do you think it will take? i have hankered after building one for years ever since i saw an article on the strip plank canoes and then rushed out and got a book called "canoes and kayaks for the backyard builder" it featured a lot of the stitch and glue method ,must try to look it out. Have you tried asking your grandad if you can epoxy it indoors! I know from experience that epoxy does not like the cold. Keep us posted.

lol we were joking about doing it in the lounge but its a no go from grandma  . not sure on time becuase it depends on the weather really. and theres loads more expoxying to be done ive got 8kg to put on it
the stitch and glue is a good method ive done it before on a dingy,
cheers

Very nice looking dinghy, where are you sailing?
I built a pram dinghy for a friend in clinker plywood bonded with epoxy, from some plans by Iian Outhred, came out well but no pics unfortunately. If Grandma won't let you in the house better invest in some heating ,its a long cold winter ahead!

problem is you cant heat the garage that well, you cant use a space heater because of the condensation it makes, you could use an electirc one but would takes ages to heat up, it only need to be above 2oC to be ok for the glue. it was -3 in the garage the last time cooollllddd.

Looking good so far, very interesting build, look forward to seeing the work progress.
Simon
