Hi I am new to the interest of wood turning and I am wondering if there are any courses in or around Swansea that anyone knows of please ?

You may wish to give Pontardawe sec a ring. Whilst I am not a member of that club, they use to have a formal training course available to members if I remember correctly. I know for sure that the club that I go to (Tycros) has no such thing. I would also give Carmarthen college a ring.
