Because I have no knowledge of wood pyrography machines, could someone in the know, kindly tell me are they suitable for burning on aged oak?

I have been looking at the Peter Child machine, but am curious by one on fleabay; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/50W-Multifunc ... RkhRNaAhis . Has anyone had any experience of this far eastern product?

Final note, I just need the kit for one small project, but may use it infrequently as the need exists.

Regards
Aden

PS maybe one of the forum member is thinking of selling a machine, I'd be interested.

if it's for 1 small project why not use a soldering iron? (which is basically what that is with a funny head)

No, I'm happy to spend the money, but needed to know if the more expensive end of the market would be able to burn aged oak?

Also hoped that some other pyrography users had experience of the fleabay item.

Cheapo Lidl one worked well enough for me on some quite dark brown oak - for date, intials and "oak" anyway
