Wood identification

Would appreciate some views on which type of wood this floor is made from.

I believe it to be ash.

I tend to agree with Phil on this one..I've got some old ( known to be oak ) flooring in this house looks like that.

My first thought is Oak. It does look a bit like Chestnut, but I think it would be to soft.

Also have some chestnut flooring..from a neighbouring place, built about 30years after ours, don't think that is..
