Many thanks to Alie for offering all the yew on this thread: https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=33929, BSM was (very) kind enough to help out with the transport elements and now I am the very proud owner of about a tonne of yew.

Excelletnt wood and there's still a lot of good stuff left - so hard not to over load the truck :)

Seriously folks - fill your boots if you're any where near Maidenhead; it was well worth the 90 min trip (well actually 2.5 hours of Friday rush hour), the woods really nice and Alie's a bl88dy good bloke and was very helpful (and handy) with the chain saw.

Picture to follow, and hopefully some bowls :)

yep it was a good crack (apart from getting stuck on the M4) , I didn't partake of the yew myself (as i'm already well stocked and swimbo might have killed me if i'd brought anymore home) apart from one 6ft log which went up to roger S's yesterday to be part exed against his axminster vice.

but i'd second what miles was saying - there's still loads there if anyone is in the neighbourhood and allie is a top lad to deal with, and tasty with the chainsaw too
