no news. The short of it is that they have no idea what it is. I've spent the last couple of days searching various bowel related illnesses online and i cant match my symptoms closely with any of them. The pain is very acute and even high levels of morphine aren't contolling it. They can't/won't do anything until the test results come back which surprisingly can be up to 2 weeks. They changed my drugs to something that deals with nerve damage tonight so hopefully it will work and i'll be home friday. I've had all my lines out now so no real point in me being here. Missing my girls now....

best wishes paul :)

It's a real bugger, Tom, and you must be missing your 'gels' a lot. I hope they get the pain under control and you can get home to be bossed about and fussed over!

Tom

Sorry to hear about your problems. Hope things improve for you soon.

looking on the brightside the wheels are excellent for making wheeled bases in the 'shop - just dont let the nurses catch you detaching them :D

Thanks again all. I came home this evening. Lovely to be back in my own bed but even better to see my little girl!

I was somewhat anxious about coming home without a diagnosis nor fix. But the pain is being managed reasonably well so there was no point in me being in hospital. It's now a long wait to hear back from the results of the piece of bowel they removed. Hopefully between now and then, things will settle down. If it is crohn's, then I assume 'flare-ups' sort themselves out eventually. I'm going to treat it like that and go for a low residue diet to relax the bowels as much as possible.
