Which chuck for new turner

I’m new to wood turning and I have been given a Sealey sm1100 10 speed, which has saved me a ton of cash for getting all the tools I need as they are not cheap, looking online they do a blue sm1100 but this one is green, anyway It has no chuck, and I can’t seem to find any info on the thread size.

Could someone post a link to a chuck that would fit this lathe.

There is one listed on ebay and it gives the thread size as 3/4x16tpi

I dont know the lathe but there are thread adapters to fit chucks to different lathes. You need to identify the thread on your headstock then get the right adapter to marry the chuck to your lathe.
Just did a google and it comfirms Mark.B. that the thread is 3/4'' x 16tpi.
Also noted that its a very common lathe sold under quite a few brand names so finding stuff for it should mot be too hard.

Most of the 10 speed lathes were 3/4"x16 TPI but IIRC Axminster did a 1"x8 TPI version.
As to a chuck, any 100mm, 4 jaw woodturning chuck as opposed to a metal turning chuck with stepped jaws.

If you think you'll ever upgrade the the lathe have a look at
Versachuck wood lathe chuck. Accepts all leading makes of jaws
You need only to change the backplate to suit another lathe.

My lathe is 3/4x16tpi, I have the Record Power SC4 chuck and I love it, easy to use and to clean

I have 3/4x16tpi on my Record - I use Nova chucks bought second hand.
