I was just thinking of some of the stuff I want to make once the House DIY (living room redecorate ........ including parquet floor through into hall)

and I've got on long list

bench system for workshop/shed with mitre station and router table built in

Fire surround in maple (living room)

two low DVD storage and side cabinets in maple and walnut (living room)

Sideboard in oak for dining room

Barrister bookcases for home office in oak (Norm inspired)

Oak desk to match bookcases

painted MDF cover for disconnected gas heater in bedroom


Looking at this list and the speed I get things done this list will keep me going for a long long time ........... hopefully my speed will increase once the DIY is finished and my workshop is sorted

as a Hobby woodworker I've got a lot to do :shock: .........
how about everybody else ........

Where to start.

a) 2 built in units and a display cabinet in Ash for the lounge
b) dining table in Oak (wood drying in workshop)
c) tool storage in Maple ans walnut for workshop,
d) jewelry box or boxes
e) mirror for hallway
f) new bench

and that is only what just springs to mind there is a lot longer list.

Well as for the jobs that don't pay, I too have a long list from SWIMBO not to mention my own work. Computer desk for the spare bedroom, shoe cabinet for the hall, CD &DVd rack for my large collection, CD rack for the computer CD's. Oh and then there is the workshop which reqires the internal cladding finishing, a lean to to house the dust extractor and compressor which is taking up valuble space, Then a mitre saw station and a few more cupboards to house my growing selection of tools! All of this has to be fitted in between the paying jobs to keep SWIMBO happy of course and I have promised to sort out the garden this year too! As my quote reads: 'Never enough hours in the day' :shock:

Oh God...

1. Finish the windsor chair (like this one -http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b209/PhilCarpenter/Chair Making/P2030099.jpg) I started in April last year for my godson's 21st birthday (June 2006)

2. Make some new legs (with a larger tenon) for the windsor stool top I accidently drilled at too shallow an angle. So I now need to ream out the holes making a better angle and so will need a bigger tenon on my legs

3. Finish a new windsor stool top that will fit the already made legs from the above stool , so as not to waste them

4. Turn some legs for the chair in my avatar in preparation for my course in May

5. Construct the toolcabinet tool cabinet from the boards (initial machining done) in stick and taking up a lot of room in my workshop.

6. Design and make a small bookcase for our bedroom to match the...
7. .... bed that I want to design and make in a sort of 1900's Heal's style.

8. In my spare time I need to knock up a shooting a board and couple of other bits and bobs.

Build a workshop, a patio, make some new wooden stands for the beehives, 2 rooms need fitted wardrobes, the rocking chair, some shelves, a hall table..... its never ending!!

Woodwork comes to an end in early April, then it's off sailing untill end of October, then it;s back to woodworking. :lol:

Reproduction Vega mandolin family (the above piccolo is an extrapolated prototype for these, which go all the way to double bass size!)

And nearly every one provides an excuse for more toys, um, tools

1. 2 Lean-to greenhouses in Maranti for SWMBO
2. Mobile Potting Station (also for SWMBO)
3. TV Corner Unit in oak
4. Built in unit for the 'under the stairs' bit.
5. Built in wardrobes, bedside cabinets and vanity desk for the main bedroom
6. Internal insulation and cladding for the workshop
7. Sharpening/Gluing/Cleaning station for the 'shop
8. Mitre Station and Router Station also for the 'shop
9. Two windows for the.. you guessed it, the 'shop
10. Two oak or sapele side tables for the living room
11. A New Kitchen!
12. A sideboard come book case
... ahh!! Too Much!

A Morris chair (or two)

new computer desk
by which time we'll probably change the TV, which will need a new cabinet

The list just keeps on growing (not that I mind really!)

1. Headboard for my parents double bed.
2. Kitchen table for my brother
3. Record boxes for my sisters record collection
4. Pair of dressing tables
5. Wardrobes for the bedroom
6. Oak garden bench
7. TV unit
8. Numerous racks and cabinets for the shed

And then next month...............

This is in addition to re - laying the patio and building a new shed and greenhouse.

SWIMBO has informed me this a.m. before she went to work that she requires a new computer desk for her business, have to do it in that laminated pine.
Then there will be another elm cabinet for next winter and maybe something in walnut in the summer, haven't decided yet - Rob
