What's the BEST Pen You have used?

The best pencil hands down for me is the staedtler noris,love them, cheap when bought in bulk, great quality and a joy to write/mark/use/sharpen/hold in hand.
What's the EQUILEVENT For pens?

I bought 36 Noris pencils recently... love 'em.

Pen? hmm. I have a really thin Papermate which is about 40 years old, that's nice to use. For everyday use, I just grab any old rubbish though.

papermate flexgrip ultra 1.0m, haven't found anything that comes close, I use it for writing though, not marking or drawing, it just feels right.

It's gotta be the classic Bic Crystal. Always works, always smooth, always a nice line and not too expensive. Never had a cheap "imitation" work quite like them. You might be able to buy a box of 100 cheapies from Tesco/Poundland/Fortnums/where-ever but they're never as good.

Cross fountain pen had mine for over 20 years but the cartridges are quite expensive.

fisher space pen is a joy to use and hands down the best ball point I've used.
fountain pens are another matter, but being left handed it leaves me in a bit of a bind.

And to answer the question in the OP; I use a Sailor pen, which was given to me by my host when I visited Japan. It make a very fine line, which suits me well.

I have a really nice Mont Blanc and a Lamy, both fountain pens. have around 12 different nibs for the lamy for caligraphy. Only ball point I seem to be able to write with is the classic yellow fine Bic.

Parker Duofold for me. Not that I am a connoisseur, but many years ago I lucked on a pair at a bargain price in smiths. Made them a ridiculous offer and they accepted. The 'bonus points' paid for a couple of packs of cartridges. I have always preferred fountain pens, and these are very nice.

Great question. I would love to have a reason to use a fountain pen each day to justify buying a really good one but it’s not to be. Implement of choice for scribbling notes is a Fabre Castell 1.4mm clutch pencil but its inbuild eraser should be put against a wall and shot, hard, twice it's that bad.

What do folks do with pencil stubs that don't fit in the hand any more ? - other than collect them in the bottom of the pencil drawer. My compass takes bare leads, and I don't draw many circles anyway !

I bought a 0.5mm, and 0.7mm, 0.9mm Pentel pencil. I find the 0.9mm is handy for marking rough timber. What in $DEITY's name do you do with a 1.4mm - it must be like writing with a broom handle!
